What ever happened to the prices going back down after they finish mixing their "summer fuel"?
Well they are saying that prices will peak and begin to drop sometime after Memorial Day. But as of right now the worst is yet to come.

heres an idea...stay in school, get a good job, and invest in oil since everyone is so obsessed(sp) with it...start investing if the price is going up come on it ain't that hard

I do have some oil stocks as a matter of fact, but I do not make enough form them to compensate for the price gouged gas prices. Unless you have a thousand shares and have so much money that it doesnt matter anyway, a few oil stocks will not help your cause.

Look at what the funding Bush set up for the origional "No child left behind " act did to the Texas schools. Then see if you want to invest in an oil company protected by the Prez , another thought- if Bush is out of town you got "Quick Draw McGraw" with his finger on the ole nuke button. We set for life ain't we haha , I hope China or Russia don't sign up as a hunting partner. After the Enron deal ,it looks like our leaders would help out the smaller folks. The people that lost the whole nine yards , were the ones that listened to the liars in the offices saying "Invest in a 401k, we are making money here, buy our stock" same thing as Bush tried to sell to replace SS. Instead of losing just a job, they lost their savings and retirement also, the officers walked off, laughing. Texas oil at it's finest. Dallas Couldn't hold them a light for a plot, when it came to decption and the law made sure the steal went without a hitch. research it for yourself. If we don't find a way to get some of the laws changed to level things out, the folks that work for a living(degree or not) will never see daylight. One question.
With all the problems. Why has our government not reverted back to what it did, when we had the gas shortage problems, years ago?
Can anyone answer that. Even our own governemnt.
Seems that would help offset the supply and demand factor.
And why if we have so much oil are we not giving out government contracts to build refineries.
So let's see. Hurricane season to come. Tornado season. And any thing else they can use to hike up the prices even more.
Any one feel like maybe our own government has no clue.
I mean even back in the day. Carter and others knew how to handle an energy crisis. So Bush and Cheney can't. Or don't want to.
And what about all those who want to say they feel our pain. Do they. I never seen the Prez's limo have to fuel up at a gasoline station or pay for it out of his own pocket, feel our pain. Yeah right.

Dude--that would only perpetuate the problem instead of helping to solve it. The more you invest in these companies, the more money the head honchos at each oil corporation make, which makes them not really care or feel they're responsible for the price of oil. So what are they going to do? Take that money you've invested in their company and head to Rio de Janiero, that's what. Investing's a great idea, but when funds are being misappropriated all over the place and the government's looking the other way...the rich only get richer and the poor/middle class only get more screwed over than what they already are. There comes to a point where a business is making so much money that they don't feel a social responsibility to the market price of the goods & services they provide. It's human nature.
Just like greencrest said...it's fine that you can have these stocks in big oil, but you're not going to make enough money off of them to offset the costs manufactured by the big oil companies. If this were Vegas for example, they're playing with house money, and we're left trying to scrape together the quarters that Ole Blue Hairs dropped while playing the slots to buy the $7.99 buffet just to get by day-to-day.
In other words, if the US government and other governments don't step in and say something to OPEC and if they don't stop tolerating the corrupt business ideals in big money oil corporations right now...we're all screwed royally.
